The EDP Advisory Committee meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. Meetings take place at the NMHU-Raton site on the corner of Park Avenue and 1st Street. In order for this effort to be a success, we need the broadest possible input from Raton residents.
We welcome participants of all ages and backgrounds. However, to make sure that we have sufficient seating, we ask that you let us know if you plan to attend by emailing GrowRaton@RatonNM.US or by calling the facilitator, Paul Jenkins, at (575) 445-3130. That way we can send you out materials which the other participants have already received and bring you "up to speed."
The future of this city is in your hands. We are creating an EDP using specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely goals (SMART goals) and will produce an action-oriented implementation plan. Please join us in this vital effort.

Competition with Trinidad's dispensaries could boost Raton's economy. I'm considering moving to Raton in October for the affordable housing.

At one time, I and some others were part of a conversation with a Mexican bussinessman who suggested that Raton would be a good distribution hub for goods coming in from Mexico.
I have heard that the East side of the railroad tracks is an opportunity zone
With this help, the following may be possible
Traffic could be directed to leave I-25 at exit 452, follow Guadalupe St. and Sugarite Ave. to the downtown area of Raton, then continue south to return to the highway via exit 451 or vice versa.
Martinez Street and Garcia Street could be put into the picture. Consider an old town atmosphere with artists shops, and restaurants. There are still some of the original adobe buildings and storefronts in the area
The history of this area could be highlighted as part of the total theme The Carmelita Chapel, on the corner of Boundary and Guadalupe is still in use, and is designated as a historical building.
Romero park is one block west of Guadalupe near the 452 exit.

Since we're all trapped in our house for this pandemic maybe NOW we can get these stupid goobers to not let their dogs bark in the backyard for 16 hours
